It also applies to new families who may, in turn, become beneficiaries during September 2024, provided they meet the eligibility criteria set by law, in particular obtaining an RSU score equal to or below 9.743001 and the acceptance of their application submitted via the portal www.asd.ma

The back-to-school allowance is designed to help beneficiary families cover the expenses and costs related to the start of the school year, particularly the purchase of textbooks and school supplies. The amounts granted to families under the child protection component of the Direct Social Assistance scheme, for their children enrolled in public primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools, have been set within the limit of six (6) children as follows:

  • 300 dirhams for each child enrolled in upper secondary school.

The exceptional additional allowance is paid during the month of September each year.

The exceptional direct social assistance operation is carried out in two phases:

  • First phase: It concerns families already receiving direct social assistance in August 2024, whose children’s school levels (primary, lower secondary, or upper secondary) have been verified based on the data available to the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports. These targeted families will receive additional direct social assistance during the first week of September 2024.

  • Second phase: It applies to families newly registered in the Unified Social Registry (RSU) in August 2024, who have recently benefited from direct social assistance, as well as families with children enrolling in school for the first time who were not yet included in the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports database as of August 2024. These families will receive additional social assistance payments at the end of September 2024.

To benefit from this exceptional additional assistance, the family must already be a beneficiary of direct social assistance by following these steps:

  • Register in the National Population Registry (RNP) and the Unified Social Registry (RSU) if not already registered.
